** NOTES **
The following is from Ben Compton, tour leader. Please get your reservations in early. Remember this is the week after Memorial Day. If you plan to stay at the Palace, reservation cut off is April 30.
Palace Hotel, Port Townsend, WA. 360-385-0773. We have 12 block rated rooms at the Palace Hotel in Port Townsend for May 29th. We have until April 30th to make reservations. When calling, use "Mini Tour" as the discount code. Depending on which room, our rate will be $139 or $149. https://palacehotelpt.com/
WASHINGTON STATE PARK PASS: We will be traveling in state parks. Participants will need to either pre-purchase a Washington State Discover Pass or buy one daily pass for May 30th. Washington Parks link https://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAofieBhDXARIsAHTTldr-uru0-xS19oMrDcbLAAzNBZpwhpz4JIhThQ3WYx1LY50O-B7tbjsaAgqXEALw_wcB
PORT TOWNSEND/COUPEVILLE FERRY: If we are guaranteed catching the appropriate boat and remaining all together, everybody MUST MUST MUST make reservations for the 12:30pm sailing on Tuesday, May 30th! Website for the ferry is wsdot.com/ferries/vesselwatch/terminaldetail.aspx?terminalid=17
OVERNIGHT IN SEDRO WOOLLEY: Participants are responsible for setting up their own lodging in Sedro Woolley for the evening of Tuesday, May 30th. Willowbrook Manor DOES have some guest rooms (at a premium) for anybody interested: https://teaandtour.com/
WILLOWBROOK ENGLISH MANOR: We will be enjoying breakfast here on Tuesday morning, May 31st. Buffet style, $30 per person. (Prepay in response form) Timing will be a little “off” because after departing, our next stop will be only 40 minutes away at Annie’s Pizza in Concrete, WA. Not much time in between but Annie’s Pizza is a MUST STOP every time we do the North Cascades! We can try to add a little time in between by doing the group photo in front of the famous Concrete tower, doing a little spin around Concrete prior to going in and eating. I may ask Willowbrook if we can do something “lighter” for breakfast such as scones etc.
WASHINGTON PASS: We will be doing some climbing! Make sure your cooling systems are in good working order!
IDLE-A-WHILE MOTEL in TWISP: This is a funky, old, but clean motel that is a favorite on this run. The rooms have full kitchens. It is recommended that reservations are made early as there are not many alternatives in the area and last time we barely got the last 3 rooms.
